Are You Ready for Some Ramen?

Are you ready for some ramen? We sure are, as the Japan Block Fair presents Round 2 of the New York Street Ramen Contest this Sunday, July 29 on Broadway between 43rd and 44th Streets in Astoria, Queens.

Japan Block Fair runs from 11:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m., with the ramen contest beginning at noon. JapanCulture•NYC will be there all day, introducing the contestants and describing the different types of ramen. I’ll be tweeting (@JapanCultureNYC) about the contest using the hashtag #nystreetramen, so feel free to chime in on Twitter with your ramen ramblings!

Again, here are the contestants and their entries, which they hope will be named the quintessential New York-style ramen:

Batten Ramen: Seafood-based Butter Ramen

Soymilk Ramen: Soymilk Peanut Butter Tantan Men

Hakkoan: Shio Koji Abura Soba

Ramen Ebisu: Lobster-flavored Abura Soba
