Last summer, abstract artist Ryoko Goto, who had moved from Tokyo, exhibited her produced works with RESOBOX Gallery in Long Island City, where the phrase “elegant chaos” was overheard describing her art. Her live painting was broadcast with musicians who performed at Japan Block Fair.

In exhibit works such as “Impermanence.” in which inner passion is stamped in a milky white color, she wants to feel the fleeting unique beauty that Japanese love.

The serenity contained in Goto’s works isdue to the influence of Jackson Pollock and Mark Rothko. She wants others to see a genealogy connecting the magnificent paintings of abstract expressionism from New York with the fusion of Japanese beauty.
