When Night Turns to Day Holiday Launch Party at The Kitano

Tuesday January 13 from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.

The Kitano Hotel – 66 Park Avenue, 18th Floor Penthouse (between 37th and 38th Streets)

Tickets: $150 – $5,000 (tax deductible)

Join this benefit at The Kitano Hotel for When Night Turns to Day, a new film that follows a woman’s journey into kendo, the Japanese martial art meaning “the way of the sword.” Written and directed by Amy Guggenheim, a New York-based filmmaker and kendo practitioner, When Night Turns to Day stars actors Tanroh Ishida and Norah Kirkpatrick.

Guggenheim will present a teaser to the film, which is scheduled for release this year, and artists associated with the film, Sword Master Kataoka Noboru and jazz singer Taeko Fukao, will be in attendance. Japanese hors d’oeuvres and cocktails will be served, and there will be a sake tasting and a silent auction of works by Robert Kalka, Yuki White, and special prizes.

To purchase tickets or to make a donation, please visit the party’s Eventbrite page.
