NHK World Partners with Waku Waku +NYC for Star-Studded Pop Culture Event in Brooklyn

There are so many reasons to attend Waku Waku +NYC, a new Japanese pop culture festival taking place in Brooklyn this weekend! One of the event’s sponsors is NHK, Japan’s independent public broadcaster, which will feature several premier NHK WORLD celebrities and personalities.

Over the course of two days, Brooklyn’s Greenpoint and Williamsburg neighborhoods will celebrate Japanese anime, music, food, film, and fashion. In NHK WORLD’s largest U.S. involvement this year, the broadcast giant will be hosting various star-studded events during the festival, including a Domo meet-and-greet at Brooklyn Expo Center, cooking demonstrations and Q&A sessions with Chef Tatsuo Saito and Yu Hayami of Dining with the Chef, a concert featuring J-Melo stars DJ☆Taku Takahashi and Yun*chi, and a fashion show with NHK Kawaii International host Misha Janette.

The event will showcase brands such as Sebastian Masuda, Seto Ayumi, Neb aaran do, Swankiss, Grimore, Tsukikageya, MYOB, Nude N’ Rude, and Hayatochiri.
