Nihongo Chat + J-Culture

Monday, May 16 from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m.

Japan Society – 333 E. 47th Street (between First and Second Avenues)

Admission: $5 (cash only)/Free students with valid ID

Join Japanese language students and native Japanese speakers at this informal gathering to practice Japanese and English! Anyone with some Japanese language experience is welcome to attend.

For the first 30 minutes of the program, special guest Souheki Mori will demonstrate the proper way to wear a formal kimono (Kimono no Kitsuke) and a casual yukata, typically worn for summer festivals.

After the demonstration, attendees will practice Japanese conversational skills.

Japan Society’s Nihongo Chat + J-Culture series is presented in partnership with New York University, Hunter College and The New School with support from The Japan Foundation, Los Angeles.
