Monday, August 8 from 11:00 a.m. until 8:08 p.m.
Ippudo Westside – 321 W. 51st Street (between 8th and 9th Avenues), 2nd Floor
Ramen juggernaut Ippudo’s westside location is teaming up with Hakkaisan to offer the world’s first clear miso ramen made with sake. For one day only, the miso broth will be infused with Hakkaisan sake, and the meal comes with a glass of Hakkaisan Tokubetsu Junmai.
The number eight is auspicious in Japanese culture, so this event is taking place on the eighth day of the eighth month. The Chinese character for eight (八) is known as a suehirogari (末広がり), a shape that widens at the bottom, suggesting prosperity. It’s the first character of Hakkaisan (八海山), so celebrate Hakkaisan Day with sake-infused ramen!
