Mind of the Mangaka: Yusei Matsui, Creator of Assassination Classroom
Thursday, October 6 at 6:30 p.m.
Japan Society – 333 E. 47th Street (between First and Second Avenues)
Admission: $30/$25 Japan Society members, seniors, and students
In conjunction with New York Comic Con, Japan Society presents an intimate conversation with Yusei Matsui, the mangaka on everybody’s mind.
Author of the wildly popular Assassination Classroom, Matsui has created one of the best-loved – and bestselling – manga in both Japan and the U.S. in recent years. An action-packed comedy in which middle school misfits face off against their smiley-faced alien teacher, Assassination Classroom has been a consistent New York Times bestseller, and it was adapted into a popular anime series and hit live-action film.
Matsui’s appearance is in partnership with VIZ Media, a premier company in the fields of publishing, animation distribution, and global entertainment licensing, and ReedPOP, the world’s leading producer of pop culture events.
Don’t miss this rare opportunity to see the manga master in person!
The event will be moderated by animator/producer Justin Leach and followed by a reception.
