“Sake Nouveau” Tasting at Umi No Ie

Wednesday, February 1 from 7:00 p.m. until midnight
Thursday, February 2 from 7:00 p.m. until midnight

Umi No Ie – 86 E. 3rd Street (between First and Second Avenues)

Admission: $20

Sip on “Sake Nouveau,” the first batch of limited sake that was bottled in Japan this year.

Japan Fes. and East Village Japanese restaurant Umi No Ie is pouring shinshu, draft sake that is brewed from a new crop of rice. The sake is neither filtered nor pasteurized, so it’s bottled in its purest form, resulting in a fresh, fruity, and smooth taste.

No reservations are necessary; just show up and pay at the door. The price of admission includes one cup of shinshu draft sake, a masu (wooden cup), and Japanese hors d’oeuvres. Umi No Ie’s food and beverage menu will be available.
