Japan Village Courtyard – 934 3rd Avenue, Brooklyn
Enjoy jazz in the Japan Village Courtyard this Sunday with Chihiro Quartet. The concert is the second installment of a month-long initiative from the Consulate General of Japan in New York. Ambassador Kanji Yamanouchi’s band @k4 performed at the inaugural concert on the 4th of July. Take a look at the Ambassador playing the national anthems of both Japan and the United States on the electric guitar.
About RE:OPEN JAM
RE:OPEN JAM at Japan Village is a music live performance event held in Japan Village.
Due to the pandemic, a lot of musicians lost opportunities to perform their amazing music. As the New York economy resumes, organizers are hosting these events to support local Japanese musicians and to encourage New Yorkers with the power of great music. The concert series is also a great way to appreciate Japan Village and the sense of Japanese community there.
About Chihiro Tainaka
Jazz singer Chihiro Tainaka was active mainly in the Kansai region of Japan and moved to New York in 2013.
She has performed in numerous locations throughout the city, including The Garage, Cleopatra’s Needle, The Antique Garage, and B Flat. While collaborating and deepening exchanges with many New York-based jazz musicians, Tainaka is growing as a jazz singer every day.
