Sachiyo Ito and Company invites everyone to join in a sacred journey with Salon Series No. 55, which deals with creating a sacred space as in ancient Japan. Ito and her special guests will first perform a cleansing and purification ritual with music and dance, and then Jean Ando will lead the audience in a meditative walk along a labyrinthine path.
In addition to Ando, other guest artists include Yukio Tsuji and Richard Gross. Joining Ito are her Dancejapan dancers Seiko Carter, Yuu Fujita, Maiko Ikegaki, Keiko Ikehata, ad Natsuko Hirano.
The Salon Series is a series of informative and educational lectures, lecture-demonstrations, and performances on the performing arts of Japan held three times a year on Sunday afternoons at Tenri Cultural Institute.
