Five Japanese-Related Nonprofits for Your #GivingTuesday Consideration

We stuffed ourselves with turkey on Thanksgiving, shopped ‘til we dropped on Black Friday, and purchased even more presents online during Cyber Monday. Now it’s time to give back to our communities on #GivingTuesday.

Known as the start of the charitable season, #GivingTuesday is a global movement that encourages everyone to support a cause of their choice. The support can come in the form of a monetary donation or through the donation of goods, the gift of time, or simply by advocating for an organization.

If you’re ready to begin your holiday and year-end giving, here is JapanCulture•NYC’s list of five New York-based, Japanese-related nonprofit organizations that will welcome your support on this #GivingTuesday.

Please note that I am a Board director, member, and/or supporter of these organizations, so this list is completely subjective. There are many more nonprofits in New York, of course. I’m happy to learn more about a Japanese-related organization that you support, so feel free to leave a comment!
