Experience Japanese Ozashiki culture with Geisha – Geiko and Maiko, apprentice Geisha – from Nara, Japan, at The Nippon Club. They will entertain you with their arts, such as music, dance, conversations, and Ozashiki games while you enjoy Japanese kaiseki cuisine and sake.

The Hunter College Japanese Program in collaboration with the Theater and Dance Departments bring a special evening of Geisha entertainment to the public. Geiko and Maiko from all over Japan founded the Hana-akari Orchestra to introduce Ozashiki culture as well as train and develop successors. At this lecture, seven artists from Nara, Ehime, and Kochi Prefectures will introduce perform Japanese dance, music, instruments, Hanamachi stories and more.
