This year marks the 150th anniversary of baseball’s introduction to Japan. The Japanese Consulate is teaming up with the New York Mets to celebrate this historic anniversary. Japan U.S. Baseball History Night at Citi Field will take place on Thursday, August 25.

Ambassador Mikio Mori will throw out the ceremonial first pitch. There will be other festive pregame programming before the Mets take on the Colorado Rockies, such as a musical performance by Soh Daiko.
