Concert pianist Taka Kigawa was featured in a review in The New York Times. Arts journalist Vivien Schweitzer wrote about his performance of Bach’s “The Art of Fugue” at a recital at (le) Poisson Rouge.
” . . . Mr. Kigawa has focused on contemporary music, which he plays with virtuosity and passionate flair, sometimes pairing new and 20th-century music with Bach,” writes Schweitzer. “That he has attracted a loyal following was clear by the sold-out house for Monday’s concert, during which many listeners had to stand for the duration.”
Kigawa shared the review with members of the Asian American Arts Alliance (a4) at this morning’s Town Hall, the organization’s monthly networking meeting.
