Hannari & MG, Japanese retailer of dog apparel, cat toys, and kawaii Japanese characters, is closing its Gramercy and online stores. The online store will shut down on Sunday, April 30, while the physical store will close permanently on Monday, May 15.
The store is popular with dog owners who pamper their pets with Hannari’s luxury goods, which include strollers, collars, clothing, and Halloween costumes. The clothing is suitable for cat lovers as well. The cat beds, especially the one shaped like a nabe, are particularly cute.
For those who simply love cute Japanese characters, Hannari & MG has plushies, stationery, stickers, and key chains featuring Sirotan, an adorable baby harp seal; Piyo Kopiyo, a pair of cute chickens who are brothers; and Usamomo, a sweet bunny who loves strawberry motifs.
While it’s always sad to say goodbye to cute stores like this, the closing does mean a big sale with 20% to 50% discounts on most items in store. When purchasing online, use the discount code SPRING20%OFF.
The physical store is closing, but the New York-based Hannari & MG managers are rebranding online as Love, the Odd Dog. The website is not up and running yet, but be sure to check it after May 15.
