Kaoru Ikeda/MoustacheCat Dance Presents “Freedom isn’t Free”

May is Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, and LaGuardia Community College in Long Island City marking the occasion with the Asian Heritage Celebration 2017 from Wednesday, May 3 through Wednesday, May 24.

Kaoru Ikeda/MoustacheCat Dance is one of the participating acts, presenting an excerpt from their full-length dance Work In Progress “Freedom isn’t Free,” which addresses the prejudice that resulted in the internment of Japanese Americans during World War II. The work further explores current biased reactions toward people of various races, religions, and ethnicities in the U.S.
