Japanese Tasting Menu with Sake Pairing
Thursday, October 6 from 6:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m.
Koneko – 26 Clinton Street (between Stanton and E. Houston Streets)
Reservations: $95 ($65 without sake pairing)
For one night only, Japanese-style cat cafe Koneko will offer a Japanese tasting menu with a sake pairing and a visit with the cafe’s in-house family of 20 adoptable cats rescued from the NYC shelter system. There will be two seatings, at 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., and reservations include an hour with the kitties in the Cattery.
An elegant six-course meal will be prepared by Koneko’s founder Benjamin Kalb, who trained at Bouley and Momofuku Noodle Bar. The menu will feature fall classics and some surprises, as well as desserts from Tomoko Kato of Patisserie Tomoko. Vegetarian options are available with advanced notice.
A special sake pairing is available for a $30 supplement. Koneko will also serve beer, wine and sake.
