Artisans from Ishikawa Prefecture will be in New York City this weekend to host two exciting events. Hiromi Onuma, founder of the sewing company hiro, co. ltd; Toshiharu Hisatsune, a Kaga-Yuzen artist; Yoshinori Shibayama, a gold-inlaid lacquerware artist; and the Takafuji Dance Company will promote Ishikawa’s unique arts and crafts.
Enjoy Matcha Ceremony with Ishikawa Artisans and Japanese Dance Performance

Enjoy a ceremonial preparation of Matcha at Harney & Sons SoHo. Souheki Mori, who has been preparing traditional Japanese tea ceremonies for more than 20 years, will teach and share with you this timeless ritual.
For this special occasion, four artisans from Ishikawa Prefecture, Japan, will show their beautiful works during the tea ceremony. Enjoy very special night and sweets from Ishikawa, paired perfectly with a fine bowl of Matcha. After the tea ceremony, guests will be entertained by a Japanese dance performance by the Takafuji Dance Company, a school of dance that performs Sosaku Nihon Buyo, a creative style of traditional Japanese dance and dance dramas.
