The JET Alumni Association of New York (JETAANY) is hosting its first-ever, live storytelling event at the historic Hostelling International New York City. Hear true stories told live on stage about experiences related to the Japanese Exchange and Teaching (JET) Program. The organization sends participants from around the world to all corners of Japan to work in schools, on boards of education, and at government offices. More than 66,000 people have benefitted from this unique intercultural exchange since its inception in 1987.

In that time, thousands of stories have been lived and told by JET alumni, as well as the people with whom they connected. Through this event, JETANNY hopes to share the spirit of the JET Program with the audience and to help their locally based alumni recall their own fond memories.

Based on the popular art of unscripted, first-person storytelling, The Moth, JETAANY will convene and invite its members and friends to an evening of spellbinding tales. With a single theme serving as the thread to the evening’s collection of recollections, both storytellers and audience members alike will reminisce about their time in Japan.

You do not have to be a JET alumnus to enjoy these stories. Laugh, cry, and connect with other community members at what promises to be a memorable evening!

Early bird tickets are available through Sunday, February 17, and online registration closes on Friday, February 22. Please click this link to purchase your ticket in advance. For more information about JETAANY, please visit their website or Facebook page.
