Interfaith Center of New York and Buddhist Council of New York continues a week of commemorating the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki and the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II with a Nagasaki Day Peace event organized by Rev. Dr. T. Kenjitsu Nakagaki.

The night begins with a concert featuring performances by Japanese recording star and Hiroshima native Shinji Harada, critically acclaimed concert pianist Taka Kigawa, shakuhachi master KenYa Kawaguchi, and Japan Choral Harmony Tomo.

A live telecast from the annual peace ceremony in Nagasaki begins at 9:30 p.m. There will be a moment of silence at 10:02 p.m. (11:02 a.m. on August 9 in Japan), the exact time the atomic bomb was dropped on Nagasaki.
