Enjoy an evening of calligraphy, jazz, kimono, and sake with artist Setsuhi Shiraishi, who will perform her own unique style of calligraphy to the music of jazz pianist Mark Soskin. The performance will be followed by “New York in Kimono – A Glimpse of the Kimono Style of NYC” presented by KaedeNYC, a fashion consultancy that specializes in Japanese kimono rental and styling. SaQrown japan Inc., a Tokyo-based company dedicated to broadening the base of kimono, will have a kimono dressing performance. In addition, SaQrown japan Inc. will give away an authentic Japanese Aizome-pouch to the first 20 guests, and kimono accessories such as obi, zori, and Japanese hair decorations will be on sale. Mio Sparkling Sake will host the sake reception.
