Vocalist Tomoko Nagashima and guitarist Kazuma Fujimoto formed the Japanese duo Orange Pekoe in 1998. They started creating original songs and developed a unique sound, melding various types of music such as jazz, Latin, Brazilian, and soul.

The duo started performing in cafes and clubs in 2000 and soon gained the attention of club party organizers, DJs, and artists for their highly sophisticated music. Their single “LOVE LIFE” reached number one on the independent charts of HMV and Tower Records, and they released their mini-album orangepekoe through an independent label in April 2001.

After signing with the label BMG, Orange Pekoe’s crucially acclaimed album Organic Plastic Music sold more than 350,000 copies and reached number five on the Japanese album chart. They won several awards, including the Japan Gold Disc Award for New Artist of the Year, the New National Award from ADLIB Popular Disc Award, and the JFN Listeners Best Achievement Award.

Orange Pekoe has released seven original albums in Japan and throughout Asia. They have performed in many festivals in places such as Thailand, Indonesia, and Taiwan, and the performed at Japan Day at Central Park in 2009.

The duo will perform two sets at Club Bonafide, at 7:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. For more information and to purchase tickets, please visit Club Bonafide’s website.
