Saturday, July 29 from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.
New York Buddhist Church – 332 Riverside Drive (between 105th and 106th Streets)
Donation: $50/$40 members
In this seminar, Rev. Sonam Wangdi Bhutia, Head Priest of Kathmandu-Hongwanji in Nepal, will discuss his encounter with Shin Buddhism, and guests will learn how transforming our everyday perceptions creates a richer appreciation of our lives.
Raised as a monk in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition, Rev. Sonam encountered Jodo Shinshu, a Japanese Pure Land school, at age 28. From this meeting, he goes on to found Nepal’s first Hongwanji temple. Hear how the Buddha’s story resonates today in Shakyamuni’s birthplace.
A coffee break and lunch are included in the donation.
