Happy Monday! To start the week of right, let’s dive into Part II of the Japan Society/JapanCulture•NYC JAPAN CUTS Trivia Contest.
Japan Society’s JAPAN CUTS: The New York Festival of Contemporary Japanese Cinema finished a successful week one, with J. Caguicla and Rob Domingo each winning a pair of tickets to see A Story of Yonosuke, courtesy of Japan Society. Part II of the trivia contest focuses on The Cowards Who Looked to the Sky. Two lucky readers will win a pair of tickets to see this screening at Japan Society on Saturday, July 20 at 4:00 p.m.
All you have to do is answer these two questions correctly:
1. The film The Cowards Who Looked to the Sky is based on the novel by what Yamamoto Shugoro Prize-winning female Japanese writer?
2. This year marks the seventh JAPAN CUTS, and Cowards director Yuki Tanada is one of the film festival’s favorite auteurs. What are the three Yuki Tanada films – not including Cowards – that JAPAN CUTS screened in its previous six years?
If you know the answers, send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org right away! The deadline for this screening is Wednesday, July 17 at midnight. Of the contestants with the correct answers, two will be drawn randomly to receive a pair of tickets. The drawing for the two lucky winners for the screening of The Cowards Who Looked to the Sky will be held at the JC•NYC World Headquarters on Thursday morning at 8:00 a.m.
It’s important to note that this film is unrated, and viewers must be 18 years or older. Therefore, you must be 18 years or older to enter this trivia contest.
We’re also giving away two pairs of tickets to see the JAPAN CUTS closing film, The Floating Castle on Sunday, July 21 at 8:00 p.m. So stay tuned for two more trivia questions this week. Good luck!
