The OIST Foundation has rapidly developed a series of on-line programs and activities in response to the spread of COVID19 and the associated need to avoid in-person gatherings. The Foundation’s main webinar program, the U.S.-Japan Science Webinar Series, aims to highlight critical topics and people of importance to the U.S.-Japan relationship that have a scientific and innovation focus. The U.S.-Japan Science Synergy Series, sponsored by the Japan-U.S. Friendship Commission, brings together prominent scientists from the United States and Japan (primarily from OIST) to discuss common research issues, questions, and themes that are of great concern to the world in which we live. The Foundation also co-sponsors webinars with other organizations.
Serving as a valuable resource with a positive impact, the OIST Foundation fosters opportunities for U.S.-Japan collaboration in science and technology and promotes U.S.-Japan science diplomacy through events, workshops, and strategic partnerships.
