Tokyo-born, New York-based author Laura Kriska is an expert in cross-cultural relations with more than thirty years of experience bridging gaps in diverse workplaces. Considered an authority on cultural integration, she is a regular lecturer and a TEDx speaker.

She was the first American woman to work in Honda Motor Company’s Tokyo headquarters and used this experience to write her first book, The Accidental Office Lady. I first met Laura while she was promoting that wonderful book years ago.

Now she has written a new book, The Business of WE, which provides practical guidelines for companies to create trust and improve relationships in the workplace by moving from an “Us and Them” mentality to a “WE” mindset. The Business of WE provides a practical roadmap for creating trust with others—those who speak another first language, worship in another faith or see a different reflection when they look in the mirror.

Kriska is celebrating her new book with a virtual launch party! There will be book giveaways and conversation about the importance of WE-building to create connections across difference. Special guests include Jenna Fischer (The Office) and Pulitzer Prize-winning author Jennifer Egan (A Visit from the Goon Squad).

Praise for The Business of We

There has never been a more important time for Laura Kriska’s WE-building tools. As a leader in a global company, I have seen the positive impact these strategies have on promoting connection among people of different backgrounds. This is an important book for our increasingly diverse global marketplace.”
